A man lashed 70 times in public in Iran for “disrupting public order and security.” The victim who was Identified by his initials as V. Sh., also has been sentenced to five months in jail.
Images of this inhumane punishment that was carried out on August 7 in the city of Landeh, a city with less than 15,000 inhabitants, were published in state-run media outlets.
Since Hassan Rouhani became the clerical regime’s president a year ago, human rights violations including exaction, public hanging carrying out inhuman punishments such as flogging have intensified.
According to the official statistics published by the regime’s judiciary during the holy month of Ramadan at least 200 individuals were lashed in one Iranian province alone.
