Today is the 48th day of Liberty residents’ hunger strike. Today, 22 strikers went under medical treatment due to side effects of hunger strike such as digestive problems, muscular spasm, dizziness, and vision and hearing weakness.

Mr. Hanif Garmabi, whose father was killed in the September 1st attack and mother abducted by Iraqi forces wrote a letter to the US ambassador in Iraq, stating, “I hold the US responsible for the safety of my mother as well as the murder of my father. I will never forget that incident. Do not let my mother share the fate of my father. I am sure you understand how it feels losing your father and not knowing about the conditions of your missing mother, in captivity of the savage Iraqi forces. The September 1st disaster could’ve been prevented if the US kept its word.”
