Senior U.S. officials are weighing the possibility of labeling Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) as a foreign terrorist organization. Members of Congress are introducing calling for such a measure, hallmarking a significant overhaul of the U.S.-Iran policy.

Senator Ted Cruz and Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart have proposed a new bill seeking a long overdue measure after too many people have been killed and injured through IRGC-sponsored terrorist activities. Who are the Iranian Mujahedin (MEK)?

 Foundation

The Iranian Mujahedin or the People’s Mujahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) is the principle opposition group to the Iranian regime. The PMOI has been struggling to establish freedom and democracy in Iran for the past 51 years. The PMOI was founded in 1965 by three Muslim university graduates and sought to replace the Shah’s dictatorship with a representative government that respects human rights. Several members of the PMOI were arrested and executed during shah dictatorship for the efforts to bring freedom and democracy to Iran.

John Kerry: I Am Very Proud of the Effort We Made to Get MEK out of Iraq

On January 19, 2017 John Kerry

secretary of state in his farewell remarks in the C Street Lobby, regarding the relocation of MEK members mentioned the following words.

“…And one of the things that I am very proud of is the effort we made – I remember going to hearing after hearing, and you remember all those folks you’d see up there in those yellow jackets representing the Mujahedin-e Khalq – MEK as we’ve known them – and we got 3,000 of them out of Camp Liberty and to places where they are safe and their lives are saved from being attacked regularly, as they were. I thank Jonathan Winer, our special envoy, and others for that kind of effort. It’s been enormous.”

This article posted on the Hill.

The Syrian people’s six-year uprising for freedom from decades of dictatorship in their country, now evolving into a regional war and global crisis, is proof of two undeniable facts:

First, proving the international community’s inaction and a failed Western policy in the face of Middle East challenges.

Second, devious intentions pursued by Iran, as the root of all current unrests and crises engulfing the region.

Trump and U.S. foreign policy vis-à-vis Iran

My article was first posted on the American Thinkers web  on December 4

The election of Donald Trump as President of the United States has wreaked havoc among the regime in Iran. Iran’s lobbying groups in Washington are going the distance to influence Trump’s foreign policy vis-à-vis the mullahs in Tehran.

This is an effort to have the appeasement policy of current U.S. president Barack Obama continue under a new administration. This campaign is bent on convincing Trump and his cabinet that an Iran regime-change policy will strengthen the “hardliners” and weaken the “moderates.”

Tancredo: Left Targets Giuliani for Fighting Terrorism too Energetically

The article originally posted on Breitbart‘ by former US member of Congress Tom Tancredo

In a move that invites parody if not outright ridicule, the left-oriented Politico blog this week went after former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani for fighting Iran-sponsored terrorism too aggressively. Well, duh!

n a week that saw “Fake News” become the number one topic of debate among mainstream journalists, Politico decided to double down on stupidity and serve up a prime example of fake news. The Washington post dutifully echoed the false accusations to give the lie a cloak of respectability not bestowed by Politico.

October 10th will mark the 14th World Day Against Death Penalty, where people around the world will rally to support the abolition of executions. While we have reason to celebrate progress in seeing more countries abolish the death penalty in 2015, with 169 of the 193 member states of the UN having been execution-free in the past year, we also need to raise awareness and alarm in regions and countries where the state of human rights and the application of capital punishment has continued to deteriorate.
