Today is the 35th day of the hunger strike of Camp Liberty residents, protesting the massacre of Ashraf residents on September 1 and seeking to have their demands met. Twenty nine hunger strikers were taken to the Iraqi physicians’ clinic inside Liberty due to their deteriorating health. Some are suffering from heart problems and severe headache. To this day 312 residents on hunger strike have been taken to the Iraqi physicians’ clinic due to the physical problems stemming from the hunger strike.
Hamid, one of the hunger strikers in camp Liberty calls on US and UN to fulfill their pledges and stay true to their obligations to protect and ensure the safe release of the 7 Ashraf hostages.
