Maryam Rajavi hailed the people of Lordegan, urged the youth to support them

Thousands took part in anti-regime protest in Lordegan (Chaharmahal &Bakhtiari Province, south Iran) on the morning hours of Saturday, October 5.  The protest was in support of the residents of Chenar Mahmoudi Village. They put the offices of the governor, Friday Prayer leader, representative of Khamenei & several other government buildings on fire.

The protest began in front of the governor’s office and extended before the office of Public Health. Security forces charged at protesters. The protesters defended themselves by throwing stones. The repressive forces attacked the protesters by firing teargas and using live ammunition. A number of the protesters were injured.

The protesters chanted: “Down with dictator”, “Don’t be afraid, we are together”, “No to Gaza, no to Lebanon, my life only for Iran”, “Incompetent officials resign, resign,” “Incompetent official, dignity, dignity.”

On October 2, while addressing the IRGC commanders, Khamenei said: “In some occasions, the depth of our strategy is more important than the most imperative issues facing our country. Many are not cognizant of this fact. Some take note and chant no to Gaza, no to Lebanon, in favor of the enemy.”

Women from rural areas played a major role in the protests that started on Wednesday, October 2.  On Wednesday they broke the windows of the office of the Health Ministry in Chenar Mahmoudi village. On Thursday the protestors blocked access to the village.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), hailed the arisen people and youth in Lordegan. “With their chants of death to the dictator and attacking the office of the representative of the Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, they targeted the clerical establishment as the main cause of all the atrocities perpetrated against the Iranian people,” Mrs. Rajavi said, adding, “This corrupt and criminal regime has squandered Iran’s national wealth by pursuing nuclear and missile projects and engaging in foreign warmongering, which has destroyed all aspects of life for the people of Iran, including health and well-being.” Mrs. Rajavi urged all the youth, especially in Chaharmahal &Bakhtiari Province and the neighboring areas to support the protesters and the victims of the inhumane policies of the mullahs’ regime.
