March 18, 2018 – Political prisoners in Evin and Gohardash prisons announced they will be going on a three day hunger strike beginning today.
The prisoners are serving sentences in different wards of Evin and Gohardasht. Both prisons are located in the larger Tehran, capital of Iran.
The striking political prisoners say they are going on this strike to protest absence of political and social freedoms, the closed political environment in the country, and the oppression against political activists specially that of women.
